The Tour of Britain Cycle Race
British Cycling’s premier touring race – the Tour of Britain will be thundering through Rossendale on 11th September.
Cllr. Jason Gledhill, Leisure Portfolio Holder said:"I am delighted that the Tour is coming through Rossendale. I hope that as many people as possible will come out to give the cyclists a hearty Rossendale cheer."
The 131km, first stage of the tour, runs from Rochdale to Blackpool, passingthrough Edenfield, Rawtenstall, Waterfoot,and Water.

Viewing of Historic Meeting House, Library and Garden. Learn about Quakers in Rossendale. Refreshments, bric-a-brac stall, Origami demo & activities for children including drawing. Miniature steam engine display & demonstration.
Open day from 10.00 until 17.00 to tour MeetingHouse and garden on Saturday and from 12.00 on Sunday after Meeting for Worship (starts 11am) including refreshments and stall.

To take up where the Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show left off, the North Manchester Custom and Classic Bike Show will be a great day out for all the family. Fantastic bikes that will cater for all tastes young and old, a fantastic local live band – ZOO will be playing throughout the day and a rock disco will keep you entertained whilst you are enjoying the sites! Childrens entertainment will be on site inc: inflatable bouncy castle and slide and bucking bull ride! Food stalls and ice cream van.
