Helmet saves cyclist in collision with car

THIS crushed cycling helmet saved the life of a schoolgirl when she fell from her bike and a car ran over her head. Savannah Haworth, 11, was knocked unconscious after falling into the path of the car. Her parents say she would have been killed without the helmet and are now urging all cyclists to wear them. Savannah, from Helmshore, in Rossendale, showed the shattered remains of the helmet to fellow pupils at her primary school in an assembly to warn of the dangers of not wearing one.
