New Guide puts Rossendale back on the map again

Date published: 09 July 2009

Tourism is back on the map again! With so many beautiful places in Rossendale to visit, along with heritage features and unique businesses and products, Tourism is seen as one of the keys to regeneration of the Rossendale valley.

With the appointment a few months ago of a Tourism Officer at Rossendale Council, the active promotion of the valley was given a higher priority. Now the first fruits of that appointment are about to be seen in the release later this summer of a new Tourism Guide booklet, which is being launched in conjunction with a brand new website - Visit Rossendale.

Tourism Officer, Michelle Gray, is looking for local businesses who want to invest in the new Guide. She says: 'You and your business will definitely benefit from a presence in the new look Rossendale Visitor Guide. Every year around 5,000 people visit the Rossendale Valley and they all have money in their pockets. Whilst they are in the Valley they will need to eat, they might want somewhere to stay, they will want things to see and do. This is your opportunity to tap into a new potential customer base.'

The 80-page, A5, full colour visitor guide produced by Rossendale Borough Council will be expertly designed by local graphic designers Urbansoul Design, using glossy high class photography to generate new visitors to the Valley enabling them to make the most of what’s on offer. The guide will include area (town/village) itineraries giving visitors suggestions of how to spend a day or more. It will also encourage readers to visit the new interactive, searchable website www.visitrossendale.com (not live till mid August 2009) which will further enhance the Valley’s tourism offer.

Advertising space is limited. The visitor guide is a bi-annual publication, for further information visit www.urbansouldesign.co.uk/rossendale and advertisement booking please contact Urbansoul Design on 01706 877899 or email rossendale@urbansouldesign.co.uk
