Store opens doors to fashion’s rising star

One of the rising stars of the fashion world will be showcasing her designs at a leading Rossendale retail store.

Kelly Ewing, who’s collections are featured alongside some of the biggest names in fashion, will share her style tips with lucky shoppers at Sunday Best on Thursday 10th December.

The Rawtenstall store is one of the only retailers in the region to stock designs by Kelly, who has quickly climbed her way up the fashion ladder since launching her own label four years ago.

Sunday Best owner Jan Shutt said: “It is great to invite a northern designer to Sunday Best. Kelly originates from Leeds, and she’s a really edgy, cool, new designer.

“It’s going to be an evening of fun and glamour, sipping champagne and trying on the different outfits. It will be a great night.”

Although the store has only been stocking Kelly’s collections for a few weeks, Jan says they have already been flying off the shelves. “Kelly has created some really beautiful designs, that are also very individual – and they’re proving really popular especially amongst the younger shoppers at our Diversion department.

“Kelly draws her inspiration from Victorian tailoring, mixing it with her own modern look, and puts her success in the fashion industry down to her conscious decision not to follow fashion but to create her own signature modern look.

“We stock a lot of her designs which are well structured traditional pieces such as boned corsetry that are brought up to date with contemporary twists, clever pattern cutting and sharp tailoring. This season’s collections showcase Kelly’s style of feminine elegance contrasted with structured tailoring.”

Kelly’s designs were featured in a star-studded fashion show hosted by Sunday Best at Old Trafford recently. Leanne Brown – wife of Manchester United defender Wes – showcased the designer’s collections on the catwalk.

The evening with Kelly Ewing starts at 6.30pm at Sunday Best, located on Bank Street, Rawtenstall.

Sunday Best first opened its doors almost 40 years ago. Earlier this year, the store opened a new department, Diversion which is aimed at a younger, target market and stocks labels including Superdry, Religion, Desigual, Love and Ichi.
