The people behind the stunning Russian Tea Room

Date published: 19 March 2010

From Russia with love…..

SD Interiors have just completed the interior design of the Russian Tea Room in Bacup. The interior is reflective of Romanov inspired decadence whilst still retaining a warm, welcoming and relaxing environment in which to sample the fantastic array of teas, coffees, chocolates and cakes.

Speaking of the Tea Room, Suzanne Dickson from SD Interiors said, “We used recognisable references to Russia, but wanted to make sure that we did not alienate the local population. From my initial meetings with Olga Penney (proprietor, Russian Tea Room) we quickly agreed on the concept of chocolate / tea / coffee browns. This created a strong visual impact, as does the large lily mural, and this distinct image not only represents the unique Tea Room experience, but also helps develop a brand style for future development.”

The Russian Tea Room was officially launched on March 11th and has been universally received with delight. Olga is also delighted, “Suzanne and her team understood my requirements immediately and worked tirelessly to meet the demanding opening deadline. From the initial mood board creativity to the materials sampling, from the installation process to the official launch – SD Interiors have successfully completed all aspects of this project and I now have my perfect Tea Room!”
