The search is on to find Rossendale’s answer to Vidal Sassoon after a leading hair salon has launched an exciting new venture.
Antony and Patricia has established a Hairdressing Academy under the supervision of its senior stylists, with the aim of discovering talented trainees.
Owner of the Rawtenstall salon, Tony Winder, said: “This is an exciting new venture which will not only be beneficial for the junior trainees but for our clients.
“Many successful hairdressers, including Freddie Cunliffe and the late Chris Moffatt, started their careers at Antony and Patricia as junior trainees. It will be great to see many more young stylists following in their footsteps.”
Stylist Kirsty Nuttall, who received her Cert Ed to teach apprentice hairdressers, has been appointed as Training Director of the new Academy. She said: “The Academy will run every Wednesday until 8pm; the aim is to dedicate more time to each trainee, ensure they receive one to one training in all aspects of their chosen career.
“If you want to find out more pop into the salon and one of our junior trainees will give you a free consultation.”
The Academy is looking for male and female models of all ages to take part in the in-salon training, where they can receive cutting, colour or restyle services at fraction of the regular price. Every three months all the models will be entered into a free quarterly prize draw.
Antony and Patricia opened the doors to its first home in Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall 41 years ago, before Tony and then partner Patricia moved the salon to Bank Street, three years later. It has since become a Rawtenstall institution, serving clients across the Valley and from all across the North West.
