Cash available to community groups
Date published: 17 October 2008
Community Groups in Rawtenstall are being urged to make use of a #5400 pot of cash.
The town's neighbourhood forum has a substantial amount of funding still available for groups and organisations to access in the form of grants.
So far the forum has only approved about a 1/3 of its allocated budget of #7260 to a handful of organisations, and the rest of the cash needs to be shared out before the end of the financial year. The maximum for any one application is #750.
At a meeting of Rawtenstall Neighbourhood Forum last week, Council leader Tony Swain said: ' We have still got a lot of money to spend and I hope that local community groups will apply for the grants and make the most of it.'
Groups to benefit so far include Rossendale Air Training Corps, Positive Start and Royal British Legion.
To apply for a grant call the Democratic Services Team on 252422
