Police seeking help for wanted man - Michael Talamantes
Date published: 07 January 2009
Police have today (Wednesday, January 6) issued a fresh appeal to trace a man wanted on recall to prison.
Michael Talamantes, 28, originally from the Rochdale area, has been wanted on recall to prison since September 1 2008 for breaching the conditions of his release.
He was originally jailed for life in June 2001 at Manchester City Crown Court of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Talamantes has relatives in the Whitworth area of Rossendale and has been seen in the area during the holiday period.
Inspector John Clucas, from Lancashire Constabulary’s Criminal Justice Department, said: “We would actively seek the public’s assistance in arresting this person. He has been seen in the Whitworth area recently and he does have relatives in the area.
“Anybody with information can pass this on to the police by the usual channels, by e mail if they look at the Wanted on Recall web pages on the Lancashire Police website, or via Crimestoppers.
“The police never stop looking for wanted people. We would urge anyone who knows Miguel to do the right thing – but if we find out that a person is knowingly assisting this person they may find themselves arrested as well.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lancashire police on 08451 25 35 45, visit www.lancashire.police.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
