POLICE are appealing for information after a man indecently exposed himself to four teenage girls in Stacksteads.
The incident happened at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 29 at Toll Barr roundabout in Newchurch Road, Stacksteads, near to the bus stop.
The offender is described as white, of stocky build, and wearing a blue/grey ‘hoodie’, tracksuit bottoms and is described as having a fat nose.
On the same evening, between, 7.30pm and 7.45pm, two 13-year-old girls were waiting to be collected by a parent outside Lancashire Sock on Deansgreave Road in Bacup when a man indecently exposed himself and touched himself inappropriately.
When one of the girl’s mothers arrived to collect her the man crossed the road and continued his actions in her presence.
The offender is described as wearing a blue or grey ‘hoodie’, blue trousers and trainers and was in his mid-20s. He was described as being 5ft 6in tall and had his hood pulled down covering his face.
The victims of both incidents were left shocked and upset about their ordeal.
Sgt Nicola Bithell, from Rossendale CID, said: “It is possible these offences were committed by the same offender and we would appeal for anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible.
“This behaviour will not be tolerated and the police are taking the matter extremely seriously.
“Rossendale has had a number of similar incidents over recent months and the police are working very hard to detect them by investigating all reports against CCTV footage and descriptions provided by witnesses.
“Due to the nature of the offence, I can understand people may be reluctant to come forward but I would ask anyone with information to contact the police – however minor it may seem.”
Anyone with information should contact Rossendale CID on 01706 237347 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
