Police appeal to track down men on the run

POLICE have released some new pictures and are re-appealing for information about two men who have been recalled to prison but are still on the run, and may have links in the Rossendale valley.

The men who have been convicted of a number of different offences had been released from prison before the end of their sentence, but have failed to comply with conditions that formed part of their early release and so they have all been recalled to prison to serve the remainder of their sentence.

Kadeer Hussain who is 32 years old was recalled to prison in February of this year but still remains outstanding. He was originally sentenced to five years and six months in prison for a robbery in 2002. Potentially, Hussain could have travelled abroad to Pakistan but there is the possibility he may still be in or have connections in the Blackburn or Haslingden area.

Miguel Jose Talamantis, 28 who is originally from Rochdale is wanted on prison recall for a wounding with intent which was committed in June 2001. His last known addresses were Tonnacliffe Terrace in Whitworth and Birtwistle Avenue in Colne and it is thought he may have connections in Rossendale and the Manchester areas.

Inspector John Clucas of the Criminal Justice department said, “We have released these pictures in the hope that they might jog people’s memories and I would ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to the police.

“We want these people bringing to justice and any details the public may have could be crucial.

“As a force we have a high success rate of returning people to prison and use all methods to catch these people and to return them to serve the remainder of their sentence.”
