Primary children challenge parking safety with police help
Date published: 05 December 2009
Haslingden Primary School student Storme Rebanks wrote a letter to Haslingden Community Police Team with regards to parents and carers parking on zig zag lines outside her school.
This caused problems for her and her sister Jacey-Leigh Rebanks when crossing the road near to the school.
After hearing this, the Haslingden Community Police Team decided to see what they could do to help!
First of all the students made some posters .(L-R) Rebecca Openshaw, Hannah Jones, Storme Rebanks, Jacey-Leigh Rebanks, Owen Chatwood and Caleb Camps.
The team and several students got together on the 25th November at home time and spoke to parents and carers who were parking dangerously and inconsiderately! They also completed 5 restorative justice forms.
