Detectives Appeal for Information Following High Valued Theft from a Motor Vehicle

DETECTIVES in Rossendale are appealing for information after lone female has had a high valued theft from her Motor Vehicle as she was sat in her car after purchasing some food at the local McDonalds restaurant situated at Rising Bridge, Haslingden.

The incident happened at around 6.45pm on Monday 28th whilst the female victim has been sat in the food parking bays adjacent to the drive thru area at McDonalds, Rising Bridge, Haslingden.

Whilst the female occupant of her Green Toyota Land cruiser was sat eating her food an unknown male has opened the rear driver’s side door and stolen a black holdall bag containing a large and valuable quantity of Diamond and unusual Gold Jewellery, the male has ran towards the main road and got into a silver coloured vehicle before the vehicle has made off in the general direction of the A56 Haslingden bypass.

The male is described as a white male, 5’10 – 6’ft tall, slim build, wearing a blue woollen hat, grey top with purple piping upon it and aged in his twenties.

The male has believed got into a light possibly silver coloured Audi A3 which was being driven by an accomplice, before it turned left out of the parking area and made towards the A56.

Police are appealing to any witnesses who may have been using the restaurant at this busy time and have seen this male or vehicle acting suspiciously, Police are asking for the female member of the public who also had her car door tried prior to the theft and assisted the female victim to contact ourselves as soon as possible.

Police are also asking local Jewellery dealers to contact the Police with unusual requests to purchase large quantities and valuable diamond and Gold Jewellery,
