Neighbourhood Forum Events in Haslingden and Rawtenstall
Date published: 01 June 2010
Residents in Haslingden and Rawtenstall are invited to come and give their views on their Neighbourhood and have a bite to eat. The next meetings of the Haslingden and Rawtenstall Neighbourhood Forums are 'drop in' consultation events and local people are encouraged to come along to find out about things that are happening in their community and tell us what they think about their neighbourhood.
The Haslingden, Edenfield and Helmshore Forum takes place on Tuesday 8th June between 6pm and 8pm at AGAPAO, Mary Hindle Centre, Bury Road, Haslingden. The Rawtenstall Forum takes place on Wednesday 9th June between 6pm and 8pm at Longholme Methodist Church, Bacup Road, Rawtenstall. A hot buffet will be provided at both meetings.
At the Forum meeting residents can:
* Find out about services in their local area including the new Communities Against Cancer Initiative
* Make suggestions and find out what issues the Neighbourhood Forums are planning to address through the neighbourhood plans
* Give their views on signage in the local area
* Find out about local grant funding available for community groups and learn about community projects the Forums have supported over the last year
* Raise issues of concern with local borough and county councillors, the police, health services and other service providers.
The Forums are putting together local action plans to address key issues in the area including improving the town centre and facilities for tourism and leisure, addressing transport issues and economic challenges, improving the health of local people and tackling anti-social behaviour and looking at facilities for young people. Everyone is welcome to come along to the event to give their comments on the plans so far.
