Benefit surgeries are being held by Action for Blind People this week in Bacup and Haslingden.
The sessions will be from 10am - 4pm on April 23rd at Co-op Food Market, Bacup, then from 10am - 4pm on April 24th at Haslngden Community Link, Bury Road.
These sessions are aimed at helping visually impaired people receive the benefits to which they are entitled. People found not to be receiving the correct benefits will be offered further appointments to complete the necessary forms and complete their claim.
Kevin Nuttall, welfare rights coordinator for Action for Blind People, said: " Whether you are in debt, and anxious about mounting bills, not sure about what to do with your savings, or would simply like to get online so you can manage your money and bills safely via the internet - we can help. We can also help you make sure you're getting all the benefits which you are entitled to. Over 90% of visually impaired people live on less than half the national average income, yet many are not claiming the benefits they could be."
