Best Ever Fire Stats in Lancashire

The Lancashire Fire and Rescue service has announced an amazing reduction in the number of fires and consequences of fires during 2007-8.
The previous year was a record breaking success, and this year has been even better, according to Fire Service sources.
Accidental Fires in dwellings - down 3.3%
Fire Deaths (as a result of above) - down 12.5%
People Injured (as a result of above) - down 1.7%
Accidental Property Fires - down 10.4%
Deliberate Property Fires - down 24%
Deliberate Fires involving dumped rubbish etc - down 8.5%
Unwanted fire signals (accidental false alarms etc) - down 11%
Chief Fire Officer, Peter Holland, commended the hard work of both operational and community fire safety staff, often working in partnership with other agencies, including the Police and local authorities. He added: " While no deaths or fire injuries is our goal, there is nevertheless good reason to be delighted by the impact our fire safety work is having. This is testament to the hard work of all our staff over the last year."
