Dale Lose a Friend

It is with deep sadness that Rossendale United has to report on the untimely death of former stalwart Billy Greenan aged 62yrs. Billy died suddenly last week.

The funeral will be held at Burnley Crematorium at 1040am on Friday 27th November. The family say everyone will be made welcome at a celebration of Billy's life. Drinks will be at the Rossendale United club after the funeral. 

Billy was one of the gents of the game who enjoyed everything about his time with Rossy - one of the true characters of non-league football. He was an integral part of the great Rossy side of the mid to late 1980's as the then Assistant Manager to Steve Conaghan, and played his part in one of the most successful sides in the history of the club. He will always be remembered for the craic he brought to the place. 

The hearts of everyone connected with Rossendale United go out to Billy's family at the time of their sad loss. There will be a minutes silence held before the game v's Clitheroe on Tuesday night.
