Chorley 0 v 0 Rossendale United
Once again suspensions and injuries forced changes to the Rossendale line up but this time the team coped well with the changes and battled to earn a well deserved point at Chorley with a 0-0 draw. Rossendale had better of the exchanges in the first half and the pairing of Ryan Zico-Black and Daniel Shannon appears to be developing into a match for any side.
It was the two of them that provided the talking point of the game when a great ball by Black put Shannon in the clear and as he closed in on goal he was brought down by the Chorley full back who can count himself lucky to only have received a yellow card when most people on the ground expected to see a red. The main danger from Chorley was coming from long throws and dead ball situations but the Rossendale defence and keeper Tom Brocklehurst coped well with all that came their way all afternoon.
The second half was much the same as the first with chances at a premium and although Chorley did have a ten minute spell when they put the visitors under a lot of pressure they could not find the final touch and Rossendale weathered the storm and came close to finding the winner on a couple of occasions but perhaps the draw was a fair result at the end of the day.
