Whitworth Sports Festival

Whitworth Sports Council has announced details of the 2010 Whitworth Sports Festival, which will run between Thursday 17 and Sunday 27 June 2010.

Featuring events suitable for all ages and encompassing many of the sports available in Whitworth, the Festival will be taking place at venues throughout the town over the course of the eleven days.  Some events will be spectator-only, however many will give members of the public an opportunity to get stuck in as participants.

The Festival’s will be officially opened on Saturday 19 June at 12 noon by the Mayoress of Whitworth, Mrs Gillian Chorlton, at Whitworth High School, Hallfold, Hall Street.  There will also be a closing ceremony on Sunday 27 June at 2.00pm at The Riverside (Civic Hall).
