Mounted Branch Ride into Rossendale
Date published: 16 July 2010
A Rossendale Primary School had some very unusual visitors this week – and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Haslingden Primary School played host to a visit from Lancashire Constabulary’s Mounted Branch who rode in to town to talk to pupils about their work in the local community.
Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Craig Leech said: “The Mounted Branch is a very valuable source of support and regularly assists local police officers at different incidents and events.
“They visited Rossendale last week so we thought we’d give local school children a chance to meet the horses and their riders whilst they were over here.
“The children loved the visit and I think the horses enjoyed all the attention too!”
