Dealing with the loss of miscarried babies
Date published: 07/05/2008
A new charity, Lancashire Miscarriage Support Group, has been formed by a Whitewell Bottom couple, Andy and Ruth Snape.
Over Christmas they tragically lost a baby. Although Ruth felt she managed for a few weeks, it really hit her in February and life was then pretty hard for a couple of month, as they tried to come to terms with the loss of their baby.
Ruth admits there were times when she felt really low, but couldn't find any support groups in the area to help her. She found some help from on line groups, but found she was pushing people away who were trying to be supportive, but at the same time, she needed some face to face help from people who had gone through the same experience.
So, Andy and Ruth have set up the charity to help people when it really matters, to know they are not alone, and there is someone they can talk to if they want.
