Operation ‘Protecting People’

5 Drug warrants were executed in Burnley and Rossendale resulting in 4 persons being arrested for drug offences. A quantity of Cannabis Bush was seized along with 31 Cannabis Plants and around £1500 in cash.

ANPR operations were carried out in Burnley, Edenfield and Whitworth areas resulting in 1 arrest for disqualified driving. 7 vehicles were seized under Section 165 of the road traffic act having no insurance. 14 Fixed Penalty tickets were issued for various motoring offences.

In Pendle, a Bluetooth message was sent out during the day which was received by 2708 of the areas community. This was to highlight ACPO National Tackling Drugs Week and Operation Protecting People as well as Crimestoppers.

An operation was also carried out by Nelson Police, resulting in 33 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued along with 2 warnings for possession of Cannabis. 1 person was also arrested for being in possession of a knife.

4 Educational Inputs were also carried out throughout Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
