Triathlon time again at Marl Pits

The Rossendale Triathlon takes place this coming Sunday at Marl Pits for the third time, and there is still time to enter if  you want.

And top amateur athletes from around the region will join fun competitors for the all-inclusive event.

The event comprises a 400m swim, 5k run and 20k cycle ride.

Marl Pits pool will host the swimming and the run will take in the quiet country lanes around the sports complex.

Then it will be time to board the bike for a ride through Waterfoot to Burnley then past Clowbridge and back to Rawtenstall.

Late entries will be accepted for the event and the three-legs can be done by different competitors.

Sponsors Solve IT will provide prizes for the first three finishers in both the men’s and women’s sections and there will also be prizes for the first male and female Vet 40, Vet 50 and Vet 60.

The first relay team to cross the line will also receive a prize as will the first Rossendale resident.

Entry is £32 for a team and £27 for individuals.
