Summer ideas for Rossendale youngsters
Date published: 11/06/2008
A FIVE-WEEK holiday scheme is being run to give youngsters in Rossendale something to do over the summer holidays.
Haslingden Community Link and Children's Centre have organised a range of challenging activities for children aged between eight and 12.
The pilot scheme will offer full time care from 7.30am - 6pm and for the first time will extend to include year seven children. Rossendale Leisure Trust will provide the activities for the children between the hours of 9.30am - 3.30pm at Fearns Community Sports College for the first two weeks and Haslingden Primary School for the last three.
Activities on offer include football, badminton, dance, drama, swimming, cheerleading, racquet sports, multi sports and fitness. There will be a trip to Burrs Country Park for archery, kayaking, cross canal challenge and wall climbing.
Visits to The Fudge Factory, The Halo and Cronkshawfold Farm are also planned.
The cost of the scheme is £30 per day and places are very limited so early booking is advised. Julie Jackson, Childcare Manager can provide further details 01706 224848.
