Ask Rossendale

As this is my first entry I'd like to thank Ask Rossendale for the chance to have a diary section on the website. As a relatively new councillor (since September 2007) it's definitely been a 'steep learning curve' (as they say) but an interesting experience. I look forward to sharing a few of the experiences - good and bad - over the coming months. But the idea of this site isn't for us to preach - it's to hear from residents of the borough as well.

Thoughts for 2009: Let's get Waterfoot centre on the move - especially the old library building. It's been empty for far too long. Let's try and get Rossendale and Lancashire councils working together on the simple things - like who grits the pavements in icy weather - instead of always blaming each other.

It's cabinet meeting next week - plenty to write about after that!

By the way, the full 'William Timothy Nuttall' sounds a bit formal - I much prefer to be known as 'Tim'.
