Hi Iain thank you for your front page news story, re the fire at the Albert Mill site in Whitworth, when I was on my way home on Friday evening at 11.45pm I came to the tee junction at the end of Newline to turn onto Market Street Shawforth, to come home only to be met by a police officer who told me that there had been a major fire and that a fire officer had been hurt, and that I would not need to travel back to Rawtenstall and then to Edenfield then onto Rochdale and up to Whitworth, which took me well over one and half hours to get to Whitworth upon driving to Healey Corner only to be met by another police office to be told that the whole of Market Street was closed, when I told him were I lived he advise to drive up Tonacliffe Road, that would a safe area, I then spent the next hour sending a number of emails to everyone up to our CEO at RBC Mrs Lockwood, at 8am on Saturday morning I then started all over again trying to make contacts with staff members of RBC to which everyone one from the police officers and the fire officer were still trying to sort out this major problem by mid morning RBCs building regulatuions office had declaired the site has beening safe, I have ask for a meeting with RBCs CEO on Monday to try and resolve this problem, I must say a big thank you to all the local residents for there help at this time and also to thank them for making cups of tea all night long for all the police and fire officers once again thank you for your help in this matter Best wishes Alan Neal ward councillor for Healey and Whitworth
