Being a Councillor

Since being elected for the first time in 2007 my feet haven`t touched the ground. To say I am enjoying every minute of being a Whitworth councillor is an understatement. I pride myself in going out to meet people and speak face to face. The quality of life for the residents of Whitworth is a passion for me whether it`s to have grass bankings trimmed or salt bins replaced, everything is of equal importance.

Being a member of the Sports Council and having a very successful week long festival is like living a dream. The community has been brought closer together and to see people of all ages taking part was truly amazing. Thanks must go to all our sponsors and all the workers and volunteers behind the scenes. Without everyone pulling together and devoting precious time the festival would never have happened. The highlight for me was having a speed boat ride on the reservoir! My heart was in my mouth but it was awesome!
